Our Story

When the Kobe earthquake hit Japan in 1995, Pastor Lance felt the call to take a team to help. Seeing so many people come to put their faith in Jesus as Savior, he knew that God was doing something unique in and through Calvary La Habra (then called "Committed Fellowship").

Over the years, our Missions Ministry has grown into "Committed Missions", and has been active in spreading the Gospel and making disciples throughout the world.

From helping to plant churches in Bay St. Louis (Mississippi, following Hurricane Katrina), Haiti, Ireland, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, and Uganda, to coming alongside our brothers and sisters in Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Hungary, Israel, Peru, Rwanda, South Africa, and Ukraine, our church continues to impact the nations for Jesus!

Our vision is to be Christ's witnesses to the 'uttermost part of the earth' (Acts 1:8) through relational evangelism, discipleship, and servanthood. It is our hope that God would raise up people within the congregation to heed the call to use their time, skills, and resources to further the kingdom here on earth.

  • As believers, Jesus commissioned all of us in Matthew 28 to "go into all the world and make disciples of all nations". That's exactly what we're doing! Whether it's strengthening connections with our sister churches through fellowship, visiting orphanages, building churches or houses, aiding in disaster relief, providing worship, praying for and with, or meeting the physical and practical needs of people in other countries, we have the blessing of being the hands and feet of Jesus to them.

  • In your own backyard, your city, your state, your nation, and all over the world! Committed Missions (Calvary La Habra's Missions Ministry) teams have gone out through California, the USA, to Austria, Costa Rica, Haiti, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Mexico, Okinawa, Panama, Peru, Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda, and more! We support missionaries around the world, and we send teams out every year.

  • Pray! Pray for our missionaries, and pray about where God may want to send you. Pray about how long you can commit to - be it a weekend, a week, 2 weeks, or longer! If you can't (or have no desire to) go yourself, you can still support Missions financially through calvarylh.org/give!   • Faith in Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, a humble and willing heart, at least 6 months of being plugged in (regular attendance and serving) at Calvary La Habra, a valid passport with expiration at least 6 months after the return of the team, and good health.
